MacLean Engineering was founded by mining engineer Don MacLean in 1973 in a barn near Thornbury by retrofitting farm tractors to become a global leader in specialized underground mining equipment. Don started the company to solve underground safety and productivity issues. Dan Stern serves as Senior Product Manager at MacLean Engineering. Dan is currently in his 18th year of service at MacLean having started fresh out of university as an intern, transitioning through several roles to oversee product strategy, development and launch for the company’s mining vehicle portfolio, especially MacLean’s growing EV offerings.
