PROBUS Club of Blue Mountain

Friendship, Fellowship, and Fun

Thursday March 20th

President’s Comments

Michael began the meeting by outlining all the good Blue Mountain PROBUS news to report on. We’ve enjoyed an excellent year of winter activities beginning with the Ski Legend skiing, Snowshoeing, Collingwood Blues hockey games, and having our first cocktail party, held at Chris Meleskie’s home. Because of its success, we are hoping to hold this event quarterly and we are in the process of looking for people who are willing to help host this event. If anyone one is interested, please let the executive know.

Michael mentioned that Dave Thomson will be forming a social committee and has already began with three new social events: Probus golf, a King’s Wharf outing, and a revamped Xmas social. More info on these events will come when available. Stay tuned.

Michael also mentioned that Bill Booth has implemented an upgrade to our website to improve the process for signing and tracking our newly designed Liability Waiver. Once signed, the new waiver will be effective for all club activities.

Michael then introduced George Christie and awarded him an Honorary Membership into the PROBUS Blue Mountain Club with a gold membership badge. George has been a member of PROBUS for over 30 years. Congratulations George!

Kultural Attaché - Bill Barclay

Once again, Bill, kept us entertained with his jokes. He began with Silvio talking about how great shape he, his father and grandfather were in and why they live to a very old age, and then Bill had short stories related to the word take-out and how it could be used in 3 different ways (food, dating and murder). He ended with a joke from his namesake, Walter on how Ray couldn’t get to work on time and why.

Thanks Bill!
