President’s Message October 2025
All our club members are fortunate enough to be living in the Southern Georgian Bay area and have experienced wonderful outdoor conditions during the 2025 fall season. Continuing warm, dry weather has resulted in excellent weekly trail biking rides, great paddle adventures, and many challenging rounds of golf. In addition walking around the Collingwood harbour and hiking on local Bruce Trails to view fall colours is seeing a real boom in participation. As we turn the corner into late fall there are many events to look forward to including Collingwood Blues hockey, quarterly club cocktail parties, snowshoe tours and a revamped Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 10th at Alpine Ski Club.
The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday October 16. There are a number of PROBUS Canada constitutional requirements that must be approved and officer elections held by the membership each year. The Club is in a strong financial position, hosts a broad range of activities, but has a need for more new members and increased volunteerism on the part of current members. More on this at the AGM.
Annual dues are now payable and have been set at $65 for members and $90 for new members. Our excellent treasurer, Gene Peycha, will be accepting credit card or bank card payments at the October monthly meeting. The preferred fee payment method of electronic transfers can also be sent to probusblue@gmail.com
The Women’s Auxiliary at the Legion is providing a hot lunch service in October and we hope you can join us after this month’s meeting.
Looking forward to seeing you Thursday, October 16th.
Respectfully,
Michael Coward

The Tuesday ride to New Lowell on the new train trail from Stayner! Picture perfect day with blue sky and above seasonal temperatures. We rested our tired and thirsty souls on the Boston Pizza patio. 20 riders looking forward to the next ride!
Rain? What rain?
What do you do when the bike ride gets rained out? Go for lunch! The Tuesday bike ride suffered only the second rain event this year. The lunch location was enjoyed by 14 cycling members. Members who can’t cycle due to scheduling conflicts often join in for the “optional “ lunch.
Hiking Group is "taking a hike" until the fall.
The Muskoka program was a success, the Rideau program is fully booked and Agawa is the same.
We are offering local, exotic, Europe, so we hope to hear from all members that one of these trips appeals to you.
