Dear Probus Club Members,

Well, it was very encouraging to see the turn out at our first live meeting back at the Legion on October 21. Everybody was double vaccinated and masked and we all had a good time.

The Management Committee is committed to brining back all the usual PROBUS activities in a cautious and safe manner.

Looking forward to seeing everybody at our next meeting, November 18, 2021.

Doug Ellsworth, President
Probus Club of Blue Mountain

The Christmas Luncheon will be held at the Alpine Ski Club, Ascot Hall. Tickets are $50 (debit) ... $51(credit) at the meeting.

Investment Group

The Investment Group of the Club has been meeting on a regular basis over a period of twenty years.

The meetings are usually 10-12 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Collingwood Library and will begin when Covid permits. There is a charge of $4 for each meeting attended to cover the cost of the room rented.

All Blue Mountain Probus Club members are welcome. The members who are best served will be those who are willing to ask questions, exchange ideas and participate in the discussions.

From time to time invited guests (stock brokers, portfolio managers, tax advisors, etc.) will make presentations.

Our committee consists of Ed Long-Convenor, Bob Sanelli-Communications, John Hartley, Treasurer and zz.. Newcomers are always welcome so please join us.

A typical new topic for discussion might be the National Bank’s recent announcement that they have eliminated commissions on self directed stock trades.

I look forward to our next meeting.

Regards, Ed Long
Investment Group Chair

Cycling and Paddling

The groups look forward to next year starting in May. New schedules for both groups will be published in April 2022.

Take care,
Monty Richardson

Computer Group

The Computer Group has been unable to meet at the library since the start of COVID. Looking ahead, since Bill Booth has moved way north, to New Liskeard, the Group will be dissolved unless someone is willing to take up the reins.

Alternately, we could consider a ZOOM meeting format, but quite honestly, it would not be feasible for only a handful of attendees.

You know who you are (group-wise) so let Bill know if there is enough interest to rekindle the sessions. Meantime, you can follow Bill’s Blog at:

Let me know.
