Fellow Probus Members, Greetings!!!! I hope this finds you all well and staying safe, and, getting around to your second dose of Covid protection. Your Management team is getting ready for regular meetings at the Legion, and, you'll be hearing about some of the other accomplishments at a later date. I'm looking forward to a beer and a sandwich after our meetings at the Legion, and, getting to see you all in person. Please take care and stay safe until we meet again at the Legion!!!

Project Selfie
We are hardly making progress. Only 13 members have sent in photos for the database. Please get your selfies into: webmaster@probusblue.ca <hr> Paddling Club
PROBUS Club of Blue Mountain is starting a Paddling Club. Now that COVID rules are less restrictive, we are starting up a new interest group at Probus Blue Mountains. Carl Wintermeyer has initiated a group of members that are interested in Paddling. We are setting up our first trip on the Nottawasaga river. A canoe float trip from Edendale to Wasaga, a 4 hour canoe and kayak trip for members on July 15th . Carl has consulted with Bob McNair and he is supportive of this initiative. We have crafted a Probus waiver that is satisfactory to him. We would be covered by Probus Liability insurance.
Hopefully, this will lead to more trips on local rivers that will get people out to enjoy nature again. Contact Carl for more information.
No Golf Tournament
Due to the delays of COVID, we are not holding golf day this year.
Mixed Lawn Bowling event.
Dates proposed August 26th with September 2nd as a rain date. Can accommodate up to 48 people, includes spouses. Proposed as a morning event with lunch. Cost for the event $25 with Hamburger lunch must BYOB. More details will be confirmed this summer.
Cycling Group
Your committee met in June to determine the best way forward for the rest of this season. To that end we have decided on A (more difficult) and B (less difficult) rides for the next 2 weeks (June 29th, July 6th) leaving and returning to Collingwood. Details will be sent out in the next couple of days for next week's rides. We believe (hope) that the province will open up patio group sizes and indoor dining by that time, so we will be reaching out to our list of ride leaders to have them decide on the rides they would like to lead, which hopefully can include rides which are a little further afield. In the meantime I have openly copied the folks on our cycling list so that you can contact individuals for ad-hoc rides at your convenience. Check website for updates and Ride details. Monty
Club Treasurer
We are in need of a member to take over The Club Treasurer position from Doug Smith - enough is enough! Doug has taken on these duties for many years and would like to pass the baton. Don’t be shy ... Step up.
