Message from the President
Hello Fellow PROBUS Members!!!!
I hope this finds all of you well and staying safe in these trying times. Good time to get caught up on reading, housework and getting ready for TAX SEASON!!! Your management team continues to meet virtually staying on top of PROBUS issues and organizing our own meetings.
At our next ZOOM meeting you can expect to hear of a couple of events we are hoping to enjoy after lockdown and we are allowed to congregate safely. Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces again on-screen February 18th.
Eddie Sokoloff President, PROBUS Club of Blue Mountain
Message to membership
It is with sadness that I am sharing the news of the passing of Roy Neufeld on January 24, 2021. Roy was a Past President of our club from 2002 - 2003.
A donation will be made to the Collingwood General and Marine hospital on behalf of the membership. A link to his obituary can be found below.
David Eaman - Membership Chair
Our financial position is still strong with limited expenditures over the past year. Our bank account is about $6250
Our main expenditures are for renting the Legion for monthly meetings (no meetings - no cost), for our yearly donation to Probus Central, about $700, and finally for Memorial donations as we recognize deceased members with a donation to Hospice General Triangle (default) or a charity specified by the family.
Many have asked about dues for this year. The Board has decided we have no need to collect dues with limited expenses. When opening becomes an option, we will determine an appropriate number to cover planned expenses and collect at that time.
Doug Smith, Treasurer
A child asked his father, 'How were people born?' So his father said, 'Adam and Eve made babies, then their babies became adults and made babies, and so on.'
The child then went to his mother, asked her the same question and she told him, 'We were monkeys then we evolved to become like we are now.'
The child ran back to his father and said, 'You lied to me!' His father replied, 'No, your mom was talking about her side of the family.'
From the Webmaster
If you have visited our web page, you will have noticed the Mug Shot initiative, but most of you have not yet submitted a selfie. We are living in a physically distanced time, so it is important to do all we can to stay connected. We are currently able to click on a Member's name to get his email, phone and so on. With this additional information, we can remember what someone looks like. Please make an effort to push this forward. Send a selfie to the Webmaster. It does not have to be a Karsh portrait, just a nice smartphone image will do.
