The cycling season is coming to a close and I thought it would be a good time to thank our many Ride Leaders for their volunteer services throughout the year. The hard work you do which is comprised of planning the ride route, pre-riding it, booking restaurants, monitoring weather reports, calling the ride due to weather, and assuring we all ride safely is appreciated by all cycling members. Our present roster of 17 Ride leaders help the cycling committee to set up the ride schedule and make it happen. We also owe a debt of gratitude to all the volunteer sweeps that get us to our destination safely as a group. We have had a good season considering the late start and the many challenges Covid and the weather have thrown our way. On behalf of the committee and all our cycling members, thank you everyone for a job well done.Cheers Carl
Meet and depart from behind Tim Horton’s (281 First St. Collingwood) at 8:00 am
Muskoka Big Chute Loop ride traverses a gently rolling and flat section of roads near Port Severn and The Big Chute. This is the perfect spin ride suitable for all bicycles as the back roads, we ride on, are all paved. The main ride will be a loop of 58kms starting at the Driftwood Cove & The Galley Restaurant, Port Severn. We will ride south to the Big Chute Road and then north passing the River Emporium in Severn Falls (SADLY THEY ARE NOW CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY SO NO ICE CREAM), THEN ON TO THE Big Chute marine railway on a gently rolling road with n o big hills on the whole trip. After viewing the Big Chute Marine railroad, we will ride to White Fish Falls and then on to South Bay Marina and back to Port Severn and the Driftwood Cove.
THE GALLEY RESTAURANT IS OPENING ESPECIALLY FOR OUR CYCLING GROUP. A SPECIAL THANKS AS THEY ARE CLOSING FOR THE SEASON. DINING ON THEIR DECK OVERLOOKING THE WATER

58KMS IN TOTAL
Meet At Tim Hortons for departure at 9:pm to arrive at Driftwood Cove Marina in Port Severn.
Traveling time to there is approximately an hour. This is were we will park and meet up eventually with the A group.
We plan on having lunch & refreshments at the on site Gallery Restaurant 1:pm.
We will cycle on Honey Harbour Rd (5). The road is paved. Mostly flat and a few minor rollers. This is a tight to the right road most of the way. We will have time to check out the harbour area … in particular their recent harbour front redevelopment, and some interesting water craft resting on their trailers at a few of the marinas. Coming out of Honey Harbour we ride Baxters Loop, and head back the way we came to Port Severn. Driving from Collingwood
